A few modifications have been incorporated and demonstrations have been performed. Nieufoam and Foamkker These were created to look different than other foamies and perform better than other scale looking indoor airplanes. They are inspired by famous WW1 fighters. The 3 prototypes flew within about a week in May 2009 with very good results. The drawings should be available here later this summer. 2.5mm Depron is used for the indoor version while 5mm is used for the park flyer version. Weight: 130g for indoor, 160g for outdoor Power: approx 50-80W The drawing is not 100% completed because of other priorities but here is a draft. F3P Competition model airplane - Ibex The design objective were to obtain an affordable alternative to the European kits available. A first prototype was build using Depron foam and Mylar film. These materials allow for easy modifications. Once the concept prove worthy, a second prototype was build using balsa wood and Mylar film. The weight was down to 80g and the flying characteristics improved. A third prototype was build for the Canadian team selection contest. That latest model incorporate additional carbon structural reinforcements. It was used in the contest and qualified for the 2017 world championship in France. More updates are planned for the next prototype. The drawings will be made available after the next prototype has proved the latest modifications provide the improvements expected.
